Onus is one of John Silver's Pirate Crew in Treasure Planet. He is an Optoc pirate who join to find treasure.

He is one of the five remaining survivors on Silver's crew, along with Birdbrain Mary, Meltdown, Oxy and Moron who soon later arrested after the mutiny.

Development[]

During the film production, when it somewhat comes to the pirate crew, Onus is one of the characters to be created by Nancy Beiman, Kaan Kalyon, Rick Maki, and Allison Hollen, with Brian Ferguson being the supervising animator. However Onus and Hands are the only two characters of pirates are animating separated from the crew animators.

Personality[]

He is a superstitious, pessimistic, loudmouth and very smart optoc but sometimes a coward whatever it gone too far or so due to screwing up the plan that his captain, Sliver's furiously over to make sure him and the others follow the signal.

Onus is first seen at the top of the ship as an specialist, and shouts out that they're all clear in preparing the RLS Legacy's launching, while as also who he along with all of them were actually secretly as pirates, describing as "ludicrous parcel of driveling galoots".

Onus again soon at talking with Meltdown, Oxy and Moron until gets looked by Jim.

Onus soon later meeting up with the others about they almost blowing up the mutiny plan, which makes Silver so furious and he makes them sure that all of them need to stick the plan as a understanding crew.

During the voyage, the ship encounters a supernova. While securing lifelines of all pirates so that they will not get lost, Jim saves Silver from falling just in time.

The supernova then devolves into a black hole, where Arrow falls to his death. The burst of shock waves and maximum engine power enable Amelia to pilot the ship to safety. Amelia mourns the loss of Arrow, and suspects Jim of failing to secure the lifelines, while Arrow's line was actually cut by Scroop. He is one of the only few pirates to survive during their mutiny, as he is arrested by Captain Amelia and Dr. Delbert Doppler for his crimes alongside the remaining crew.

Despite his arrest, Onus is last seen cheering for Jim along with the other four crew members for helping them escape from the exploding planet.
