Turnbuckle was the Zirrelian Helmsman of the RLS Legacy during the Doppler Expedition to Treasure Planet, and was one of John Silver's Pirate Crew, who was his first mate, in took part at the mutiny event, and the latter seemingly fell to his demise during the collapsing destruction of Treasure Planet. However, it is later revealed that he survived, alongside other members of the Pirate Crew, led by a new captain.
Five years later since after the Doppler Expedition, Turnbuckle makes a brief appearance in Battle at Procyon, as a crew member aboard the Pirate Schooner, Warrior. He gives Jim Hawkins a message from John Silver upon being captured by the Royal Navy.

Turnbuckle is a tannish-grey Zirrelian with of avenge build, bearing slug-like eyes and two long tentacles for each of his arms and legs.
Speculation[]
- Turnbuckles appearance in BaP seems to suggest that the game's storyline takes place in an alternate timeline. One in which Turnbuckle was one of the pirates to be imprisoned aboard the RLS Legacy following Silver's Mutiny.
- Turnbuckle was a loyal crewmate of John Silver, unlike Scroop, and the three were known to have stuck together the longest in the crew.
- Long John Silver may have revived Turnbuckle along with other deceased pirates. This is because he fell in the lava-filled crevice to his death.
